DTF File Upload Guidelines

How to Prepare & Upload Artwork for DTF Printing

To ensure the best print quality and accurate sizing, please follow these DTF file upload guidelines when submitting artwork to STAYTEES T SHIRTS AND TRANSFERS. Proper file setup helps avoid delays and ensures clean, professional results.

Accepted File Formats

We recommend the following formats for DTF printing:

  • PNG (preferred)

  • PDF

Files should be flattened and ready for print.

Background Requirements

  • Artwork must have a transparent background

  • Do not include white or colored backgrounds unless intentionally part of the design

  • Avoid mockups, screenshots, or photos of designs

Transparent backgrounds ensure clean edges and accurate printing.

Resolution & Quality

For best results:

  • 300 DPI preferred

  • Minimum 150 DPI

  • High-resolution artwork prevents pixelation and blurry prints

Low-quality images may result in poor print output.

Sizing Guidelines

  • Upload artwork at final print size

  • We print exactly to the size you upload

  • Double-check width and height before submitting

Example:

  • Left chest: 3–4 inches wide

  • Full front/back: 10–12 inches wide

Color Mode & Design Tips

  • RGB color mode is acceptable

  • Bright, high-contrast designs print best

  • Avoid extremely thin lines or very small text

  • Gradients and full-color designs are supported

Text & Fonts

  • Convert all text to outlines or rasterize text

  • Do not submit editable text layers

  • This prevents font substitution issues

Gang Sheet Layout Guidelines

If submitting a DTF gang sheet:

  • Arrange all designs within the sheet area

  • Leave spacing between designs for cutting

  • Do not overlap artwork

  • Keep all designs inside the printable area

We print gang sheets exactly as uploaded.

What We Do NOT Edit

  • We do not resize artwork unless requested

  • We do not remove backgrounds unless specified

  • We do not correct low-resolution images

Please ensure files are print-ready before uploading.
