How to Apply DTF Transfers Correctly

Follow these DTF pressing instructions to achieve long-lasting, professional results with your DTF transfers from STAYTEES T SHIRTS AND TRANSFERS.

What You’ll Need

  • Heat press machine

  • DTF transfer (printed side up)

  • Garment (cotton, polyester, or blend)

  • Parchment paper or Teflon sheet

Recommended Heat Press Settings

  • Temperature: 300–320°F (150–160°C)

  • Pressure: Medium to firm

  • Press Time: 10–15 seconds

(Settings may vary slightly depending on fabric type and heat press.)

Step-by-Step Pressing Instructions

Step 1: Pre-Press the Garment

Pre-press the garment for 5–7 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles.
This ensures better adhesion and smoother results.

Step 2: Position the DTF Transfer

Place the DTF transfer ink side down onto the garment.
Ensure proper alignment before pressing.

Step 3: Heat Press

  • Press at 300–320°F

  • Apply medium to firm pressure

  • Press for 10–15 seconds

Step 4: Peel the Film

Allow the transfer to cool slightly, then peel according to the film type:

  • Cold Peel: Let the transfer cool completely, then peel slowly

  • Hot Peel: Peel immediately while warm (if applicable)

If unsure, allow to cool before peeling for best results.

Step 5: Second Press (Recommended)

Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5–10 seconds.
This improves durability, stretch, and wash resistance.

Washing & Care Instructions

For best longevity:

  • Wait 24 hours before washing

  • Wash inside out

  • Use cold or warm water

  • Avoid bleach

  • Tumble dry low or hang dry

  • Do not iron directly on the design
